Ornithological information The endangered Wetar Ground-dove Gallicolumba hoedtii was recorded and collected in 1932, but not recorded in observations by Dreyer (1991), Verbelen (1995), Noske & Saleh (1996), Lesmana et.al. (2000).

Protection status 2000 ha of this area has been declared as Recreation Park based on SK Menteri Kehutanan No. 89/Kpts-II/1983 on 2 December 1983 (Anon 1995b).
