Ornithological information This area is suitable for waterbirds and waders, and in need for further survey.
Site description Sunarto & Melisch (1994) reported that the natural mangrove forest has already depleted. Most of the area are not influenced by tidal, and converted into ponds and agriculture area.

Other biodiversity Panthera pardus (probably extinct) and Trachypithecus auratus (Silvius et.al. 1987).
Management considerations Beach erotion, waste pollution and land conversion for pond (Silvius et.al. 1987).
Protection status Tanjung Sedari (8200 ha) and Muara Gembong (10481.15 ha) proposed as Nature Reserve (Silvius et.al. 1987).
