Site description Located around 25 km south of Bandung. A mountainous area consists of several extinct volcanoes: Gunung Tilu, Gunung Waringin, Gunung Cureuh, Gunung Simpang and Puncak Walang and Bojonglarang Jayanti (MacKinnon et.al.1982).

Other biodiversity Cuon alpinus, Panthera pardus, Hylobates moloch, Presbytis comata, Trachipithecus auratus (Asquith et.al.1995, Hedges & Tyson 1996, Whitten et.al.1997).Pupisoma tiluanum is an endemic snail of Java that probably only found in this site. The important flora is Rafflesia spp., Rhizanthes zippelii, and the endemic bamboo Nastus elegantissimus (Whitten et.al. 1996).
Management considerations The northern part of the reserve has suffered from the felling of Castanopsis trees to make charcoal for many small blacksmith industries in nearby Pasirjambu. It was estimated that these blacksmith consumed charcoal from 14 large trees each day (Whitten et.al. 1996). The other threats is forest cutting and wildlife hunting (MacKinnon et.al.1982)
Protection status There are 3 conservation areas in this site:- Gunung Simpang (15000 ha) declared as Nature Reserve based on SK Menteri Pertanian No.41/Kpts/Um/I/1979 on 11 January 1979. - Gunung Tilu (8000 ha) declared as Nature Reserve based on SK Menteri Pertanian No.68/Kpts/2/78 on 7 February 1978.- Bojonglarang Jayanti (750 ha) declared as Nature Reserve based on SK Menteri Pertanian No.516/Kpts/Um/10/73 on 10 October 1973.(MacKinnon et.al.1982, Anon 1989, Anon 1997, Anon 1998).
