Site description The area consists of Karang Gading Timur Laut, Bagan Percut, Bagan Serdang, Sungai Ular and Pantai Cermin. Bagan Percut is a good site for Milky Stork Mycterea cinerea and Asian Dowitcher Limnodromus semipalmatus. There is mangrove forest behind tidal mudflat.

Key Biodiversity Base on the last information, this area probably important for migratory waterbirds. On December 1995 there were around 15000 waders, including Asian Dowitcher Limnodromus semipalmatus and small number of Far-Eastern Curlew Numenius madagascariensis in three areas together with Milky Stork Mycterea cinerea (155 birds). Follow-up survey in 1997 confirmed the observation and found 250 Milky Stork, Lesser Adjutant Leptoptilos javanicus, Great-billed Heron Ardea sumatrana, Black-headed Ibis Threskiornis melanocephalus and herons. Common Black-headed Gull Larus ridibundus probably present, but this need to be reconfirmed for Sumatra.

Non-bird biodiversity: Other biodiversity include Aonyx cinerea, Naja sumatrana and Python reticulatus at Karang Gading area (Wibowo & Suyatno 1998, Colijn 1999).
