Site description Located in Xianhu Town, the IBA includes the reservoir and the wet agricultural land below the main dam. Xianhu Reservoir is an irrigation reservoir constructed among low mountains, which have well-preserved vegetation. The lower part of the river valley is mainly used for rice paddy fields. Commercial logging has increased in recent years and the rapid decrease in the forest area threatens the nesting habitat of forest birds including Gorsachius magnificus.
