Site description Daming Shan is located in central-south Guangxi Autonomous Region, in Wuming, Shanglin and Wushan counties. The IBA includes Daming Shan Nature Reserve and parts of Liangjiang and Matou towns in the south-west of the mountains, where small streams, ponds, small reservoirs and paddyfields provide suitable habitats for Gorsachius magnificus.

Other biodiversity Nationally protected plants include Alsophila spinulosa, and nationally protected animals include Capricornis sumatraensis, Selenarctos thibetanus and Moschus berezovskii.

Conservation response Partially protected in the provincial-level Daming Shan Nature Reserve (64,900 ha), which was established in 1982.
