Site description Located on the border between Guangdong and Jiangxi Provinces, in the Nan Ling mountains. The IBA has dense subtropical broadleaf evergreen forests.

Other biodiversity Many of the plants are of ancient origin, including Ginkgo biloba and tree-ferns.

Conservation response Established as a nature reserve in 1975, upgraded to provincial level in 1981 and to a national nature reserve in 2003. The reserve joined the MAB network in 1995, the first reserve in Jiangxi to join the network. It was established as a national forest park in January 2006.
