Site description Located 240 km east of Kashi City and 850 km south-west of Urumqi. The IBA is at the confluence of the Yarkant and Kaxgar rivers, and includes Xiaohaizhi and Honghaizi reservoirs.

Other biodiversity The area supports the fish Pelochelys bibroni, and animals include Vulpes vulpes, Euchoreutes naso and Dipus sagitta.
