Site description Located in the north-eastern part of the Inner Mongolia Plateau. There are 19 significant freshwater and saltwater lakes in the IBA, which are surrounded by reedbeds and marshy habitats.

Conservation response The IBA includes a county-level nature reserve (68,927 ha) which was established in 2000.
