Ornithological information Little information is available about the importance of Tonipariwat proposed wildlife sanctuary for bird conservation. However, the site is known to support a population of the globally threatened Blue-banded Kingfisher Alcedo euryzona

Site description The IBA comprises Tonpariwat proposed wildlife sanctuary in the Khlong Saeng-Khao Sok Forest Complex. This forest complex is the largest contiguous forest block in southern Thailand. The site is contiguous with Khlong Phanom National Park to the north and east. The topography of the site is hilly, and several major streams originate within it. Lowland evergreen forest of various types and condition covers the site.

Management considerations The main threats to biodiversity at the site include unsustainable tourism development (several waterfalls at the site are popular tourist destinations) and mining (part of the site was at least formerly under a mining concession).
