Ornithological information An important area for boreal avifauna.
Site description A wilderness of natural boreal forests and diverse mire complexes north of Kitka lake. Old coniferous forests on the slopes of Riisitunturi fjeld (which reaches an altitude of 500 m) are characteristic of the area.
