Site description A complex of four adjacent aapa mires, four lakes and 15 old coniferous boreal woodlands located just south of the lower course of the Simo river. The mires belong to the Pohjanmaa aapa mires, being characterized by muddy, wet bogs with low, grassy ridges between them.

Key Biodiversity An important area for boreal avifauna.
