Site description A polder complex consisting of pools, marshland, wet meadows and ditches, located to the east of the city of Alkmaar. Human activities include reed-harvesting (`Other' land-use). This site, together with sites 070-072, formed part of a single, larger site (former site NL038) in the previous pan-European IBA inventory (Grimmett and Jones 1989).
