Ornithological information An important roost for geese Anser which come from surrounding feeding areas.
Site description A complex of freshwater lakes (resulting partly from peat diggings), reedbeds and wet meadows, located to the east of the city of Leeuwarden. Human activities include reed-harvesting (`Other' land-use, below), and the site includes two duck decoys.
