Vogelbescherming Nederland

Site description A freshwater lake, bounded in the west by the dyke of the Oostelijk Flevoland polder (reclaimed in 1957) and in the east by the mainland. It is connected to Lake Ketelmeer (039) via Lake Vossemeer in the north, and lies adjacent to Lake Veluwemeer (042) in the south (separated by sluices). Sand extraction occurs.
