Hellenic Ornithological Society

Site description A mountainous area on the border with Albania. At higher altitudes there are extensive areas of alpine pasture and some conifer forests. Lower down, deciduous forest and scrub dominates. Human activities include stock-raising, hunting, and forestry.

Key Biodiversity This is an important site for raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Aquila heliaca.
