Hellenic Ornithological Society

Site description Two eutrophic lakes at the foot of Mount Verno. They are surrounded by extensive reedbeds (Phragmites). Beyond the lakes is a mosaic of woodland, pastures and arable fields.

Key Biodiversity This is an important site for species that breed in reedbeds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Haliaeetus albicilla (non-breeding), Gallinago media (passage).
