Festival Mundial de las Aves se toma Reserva de la Biosfera Araucarias

En las comunas de Curacautín y Lonquimay se encuentran cuatro bellas Áreas Silvestres protegidas, el Parque Nacional Conguillío; la Reserva Nacional de Malalcahuello y Nalcas; el Parque Nacional Tolhuaca y la Reserva Nacional Alto Bío Bío. Esta región cuenta con una gran riqueza en aves tales como el Blanquillo, el Picurio Pimpollo, Avutarda o Canquen, el Pato Quetru, el Cóndor, Carpintero negro, Cernícalo, Tucuquere, Picaflor, etc., entre muchas otras aves. Lo que ha posibilitado que “Este festival invite a la reflexión sobre la importancia de la biodiversidad, la importancia de las aves en su rol de equilibrio en los ecosistemas, y el valor de una ciudadanía que aprende y conoce su entorno, preservándolo para futuras generaciones”, señaló Leonardo Araya, Encargado Territorial por CONAF, de las Áreas Silvestres Protegidas de la Provincia de Malleco.
