The latest scientific data brought together by BirdLife International and the European Bird Census Council show that common farmland birds continue to decline in the EU: 300 million farmland birds have been lost since 1980.

The Egyptian Vulture – What’s going on in Africa?

Since 2003 BSPB is working for the conservation of the Egyptian Vulture in Bulgaria. The gained knowledge during these years firmly shows that the main reason for the species decline is the increased adult mortality due to various anthropogenic threats. Significant part of the loss of birds is happening outside Bulgaria during the migration and wintering. In the last 7 years probably more than 20 adult birds did not return from their wintering areas.
