Representantes del Comité Nacional Pro Defensa de la Fauna y Flora (Codeff), entregarán este jueves al Servicio de Evaluación Ambiental (SEA) antecedentes técnicos sobre el impacto de proyectos eólicos en la avifauna y su hábitat en Chiloé, que podrían afectar directamente a las aves del sector.

El megaproyecto Parque Eólico Chiloé de la empresa Chileno Sueca EcoPower contempla la instalación de 56 aerogeneradores de 128 metros de altura aproximadamente y de 2 MW de potencia cada uno, en una superficie de 1.000 hectáreas en el interior de la IBA denominada Sistema Quetalmahue- Quilo y Mar Brava Ubicada en la comuna de Ancud.

A new alliance of BirdLife Partners and other organisations aims to conserve, restore and manage mangrove forests sustainably throughout the American tropics. The Neotropical Mangrove Conservation Alliance has already received a huge boost, with support from the MacArthur Foundation to coordinate activities put mangrove conservation actions in place at priority sites in the Caribbean islands.
