SPEA’s magazine is now available online

After 17 years of a paper only version the magazine of Portuguese BirdLife Partner, SPEA, Pardela (Portuguese name for Cory’s Shearwater) now has an online version.

Published three times a year, it includes articles relating to birds, to SPEA’s projects, and tips on where to go out birdwatching. It also contains a special section for youngsters.

The latest issue (#43, March 2012) takes you to the town of North Berwick, in Scotland, famous for its inshore islands hosting large colonies of Gannets. It then takes you to a fascinating place called Noudar, in the Portuguese Alentejo, where Black Storks, Cinereous Vultures and many other birds occur. You can also learn about a five-year citizen science project thataims at counting Buzzards in the  Azores and Madeira, and much more.

 Pardela n°43 is available here.

If you are interested in the magazine’s content, or have any question, please contact Vanessa Oliveira, Environmental Citizenship Department Assistant in SPEA (BirdLife in Portugal).
