BirdLife Community

The Ottawa Convention Centre is a unique venue with magnificent views of the surrounding city. The centre is also committed to being an environmentally healthy meeting facility, with low levels of water consumption, locally sourced building materials and a highly efficient heating system.

It is located close to the airport and to numerous other attractions, such as the National Gallery of Canada. Ottawa, considered to be the 3^rd cleanest city in the world, is within easy reach of some spectacular areas of natural beauty, such as Niagara Falls, Lake Ontario and Gatineau Park. Nature Canada and Bird Studies Canada will be organising various excursions during the congress period to see some of these surrounding natural features.

All in all, The Ottawa Convention Centre should make for a spectacular venue for the 2013 BirdLife World Congress and will no doubt inspire a great deal of fruitful discussion and collaboration between the BirdLife Partners.

The next BirdLife World Congress will be held between the 19^th and 22^nd of June 2013 at the Ottawa Convention Centre in Canada and will be hosted by Nature Canada and Bird Studies Canada (BirdLife Partners in Canada).
