Out of the 1,300 species of birds found in the Eastern Afromontane Hotspot, 110 are endemic. They include the Taito thrush, Usambara akalat, Uluguru bush-shrike, blue swallow, Rwenzori turaco, African green broadbill, blue-winged goose, and Prince Ruspolis turaco. So this part of the African continent is truly an avian biological hotspot.
