BirdLife Partners - Americas

The BirdLife Americas Partnership is a growing network of national conservation NGOs working for the joined-up conservation of birds from the tundra to Tierra del Fuego. In 2009, the BirdLife America’s Partnership published a directory of the 2450 most important sites for birds so far identified in all 57 countries or territories in the Americas. These Important Bird Areas are the focus of the Partnership’s work in the region, from the restoration of the last patch of habitat used by a Critically Endangered bird, to the conservation of networks of sites used by migratory birds throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
