Registration and Abstract Submission for the 2012 North American Ornithological Conference

The fifth North American Ornithological Conference (http://www.naoc-v2012.com) will take place this August at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. The NAOC conference committee extends a special welcome to participants from throughout the Americas and beyond. Academic and professional ornithologists from every sector of the field, including the research sciences, management, policy, and planning will come together from around the world. The conference will begin with an opening reception on the evening of August 14, 2012. The four-day scientific program (August 15 to 18) will begin each day with an address by a distinguished plenary speaker and presentation of society awards. The remainder of the daily program will consist of symposia, contributed papers, poster sessions, and networking events. One-day and three-day field trips to some of Vancouver and British Columbia’s most spectacular locations will be offered before and after the scientific program. Early bird registration for the conference runs until May 15, 2012. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is fast approaching! Students applying for presentation awards should pay careful attention to special abstract requirements by following the links to student awards. There are also a number of special opportunities for post-docs and young professionals. The conference, which is being held in Canada for the first time, is organized by the American Ornithologists’ Union, Society of Canadian Ornithologists/Société des Ornithologistes du Canada, Bird Studies Canada, Association of Field Ornithologists, Cooper Ornithological Society, Raptor Research Foundation, La Sociedad para el Estudio y Conservación de las Aves en México (CIPAMEX), Waterbird Society, and Wilson Ornithological Society.
