Neotropical migrants occupy every habitat type throughout the five countries of the Tropical Andes region. This project uses information gathered by the Important Bird Areas (IBA) Program to identify key sites for Neotropical migrants.

To date, 159 species from 28 families of Neotropical migratory birds have been identified in 383 of the 455 globally recognized IBAs.

The following links provide information on the status of each site and include a species list. A link to Google Earth enables visitors to view the habitat status of each site.
