Site conservation - protecting birds and biodiversity - nature’s world wide web
Nature operates like a network, just like our modern-day World Wide Web. Europe’s birds depend on a network of natural sites to survive. Losing one of these sites affects the whole natural network.
BirdLife International has developed its Important Bird Area (IBA) programme as a worldwide initiative which helps birds by safeguarding a vital network of bird habitats, site-by-site. The conservation of Europe’s 4,000+ IBAs is a huge challenge and BirdLife International invites you to learn more about the IBA programme in Europe and how you can support it.
Fortunately at the moment we do not have any on-going interventions that we need your help with. However, please visit this site regularly for news about on-going site campaigns or sign up to our free news alerts service.
